Bob Seger – Travelin Man
From 1975’s Beautiful Loser. Up with the sun, gone with the wind She always said I was lazy Leavin’ my home, leavin’ my friends Runnin’ when things get too crazy Out to the road, out ‘neath the stars Feelin’ the breeze, passin’ the cars Women have come, women have gone Everyone tryin’ to cage me Some were so sweet, I barely got free Others, they only enraged me Sometimes at night, I see their faces I feel the traces they’ve left on my soul Those are the memories that make me a wealthy soul Those are the memories that make me a wealthy soul Travelin’ man, love when I can Turn loose my hand ’cause I’m goin’ Travelin’ man, catch if you can But sooner than later I’m goin’ Sometimes at night, I see their faces I feel the traces they left on my soul Those are the memories that made me a wealthy soul Those are the memories that made me a wealthy soul

  6. Bob Seger & His Last Herd Band Super Popular with number 1 selling records & in airplay in Detroit & Michigan & a few Cities like Jacksonville & Miami & Atlanta & where ever he got Airplay but the Ziotrash DJ’S & station & others wouldn’t play White non-British Invasion bands no matter how good they were unless occasionally they managed to get popular before the Beatles like Johnny Rivers & Fans demanded their airplay!

Marlon Brando meets Rock & Roll!

If Bob Seger could have hooked up with Alan Freed in the 60’s he likely could have had big success much sooner. Also if he would have went to England & Germany I think also & got on their music TV shows. But how could he could have possibly known that! No way really!

  7. “Noah”…
Great Melody & Harmony & Sax… Like Beach Boys & Crossed with harder rock with Segers Soul Voice & a great Sax.. Also I wonder when he actually wrote this song & if the Beatles’s McCartney got his idea for Hey Jude from this song maybe Via Phil Specter who wrote some of Tina Turner’s Songs some of which Bob Seger Covered in a heavier guitar fashion… (This was a Seger original song to be clear not Specter of Turner cover)

  8. Bob Seger – Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man Lyrics
    Yeah, gonna tell my tale
    Come on,
    Come on.
    Give a listen,
    Cause I was born lonely
    Down by the riverside.
    Learned to spin fortune wheel
    And throw dice.
    And I was just thirteen
When I had to leave home.
    Knew I couldn’t stick around,
    Had to roam.
    I ain’t good lookin’,
But you know I ain’t shy.
Ain’t afraid to look a girl
    In the eye.
So if you need some lovin’
And you need it right away,
Just take a little time out
    And maybe I’ll stay.

    Then I got to ramble,
    Ramblin’ man.
    Lord I got to gamble,
    Gamblin’ man.
    Ahh I got to ramble,
    Ramblin’ man.
And I was born a ramblin’ gamblin’ man.

    I hope you got money,
    Sho gonna need some.
    Ain’t gonna run on lovin’
    And I got to run.
    I got to keep movin’,
    Never gonna slow down.
You can have your funky world,
    See ya ’round.

    I got to ramble,
    Ramblin’ man.
    Yeah I got to gamble,
    Gamblin’ man.
    Ahh I got to ramble,
    Ramblin’ man.
I was born a ramblin’ gamblin’ man.

  9. “Turn The Page”

    Lyrics:

On a long and lonesome highway, east of Omaha
You can listen to the engine moanin’ out its one-note song
You can think about the woman, or the girl you knew the night before

But your thoughts will soon be wandering the way they always do
When you’re riding sixteen hours and there’s nothing much to do
And you don’t feel much like riding, you just wish the trip was through

Say, here I am, on a road again
There I am, up on the stage
Here I go, playing the star again
There I go, turn the page

Well, you walk into a restaurant, strung-out from the road
And you feel the eyes upon you as you’re shaking off the cold
You pretend it doesn’t bother you but you just want to explode

Most times you can’t hear ’em talk, other times you can
All the same old clichés: “Is that a woman or a man?”
And you always seem outnumbered, you don’t dare make a stand

Here I am, on a road again
There I am, up on the stage
Here I go, playing the star again
There I go, turn the page

Out there in the spotlight you’re a million miles away
Every ounce of energy you try to give away
As the sweat pours out your body like the music that you play

Later in the evening as you lie awake in bed
With the echoes from the amplifiers ringin’ in your head
You smoke the day’s last cigarette, remembering what she said

Ah Here I am, on a road again
There I am, up on the stage
Here I go, playing the star again
There I go, turn the page

Ah, here I am, on a road again
There I am, up on the stage
Here I go, playing the star again
There I go, there I go
